Young Thug’s YSL RICO trial has been put on hold due to another defendant facing charges for a different murder offense.
According to the Law & Crime Network, the publicized court dispute has been set for Thursday, Aug. 31. Priority will be given to Cordarius Dorsey’s murder trial, as he is suspected of killing Xavier Arlandor Turner in January 2020. Dorsey, who was previously denied parole, is currently serving a life sentence for his involvement in a 2019 homicide.
“No more #YSL hearings/jury selection until Aug. 31. Defendant Cordarius Dorsey is currently on trial for murder in an unrelated case in front of another judge,” Carla Russon reported in an X post. “Therefore, no more activities will happen until that case has concluded.”
According to legal records, Dorsey fatally shot Turner at the Old National Village Discount Mall in College Park, Georgia. Turner was additionally charged with belonging to the Atlanta entertainer’s YSL, which was described as a “violent gang” that participated in a number of violent incidents in the Atlanta area.
Despite the lengthy process, the 32-year old keeps moving forward in the hopes that he will soon be reunited with his friends and family.
However, the jury selection procedure is still going on, and not a single seat has been filled. As the trial is still dragging along quite slowly, Thug’s fate won’t be decided until well into 2024, as the trial is anticipated to span six to nine months once it begins.
In regards to Thugger, he has been incarcerated since May 2022, with his applications for bond having been rejected four times. Thug’s legal team attempted to resolve the YSL RICO case in June 2023.
Despite the snitching claims and his distance from YSL, Gunna joined in on wishing his mentor a happy birthday earlier this month. Young Thug celebrated his 32nd birthday from behind bars.
