Hindsight is 20/20 for Tory Lanez as he begins his 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. According to a report from VladTV, the artist rejected a plea deal for a proposed four-year bid. A source told the outlet the district attorney’s offer was turned down earlier in the case, paving the way for the heftier sentence that followed.
The incident happened in 2020 after a verbal altercation between the two rappers escalated and resulted in Megan Thee Stallion being shot in both of her feet. Lanez, who has been behind bars since his December 2022 conviction on multiple felonies, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm, has been credited with time served and is scheduled to be freed in 2032.
Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, has maintained his innocence as his legal team attempted to fight both the conviction and incarceration.
