As he continues to serve time behind bars, Tory Lanez’ new schedule has been revealed.
According to TMZ, as the Canadian rapper remains in high spirits as he continues to serve his 10-year sentence, his current prison schedule has surfaced online as he lives in the general population.
“A typical day for Tory consists of waking up around 6 or 6:30 AM, before grabbing breakfast in the chow hall and then work release — a schedule that applies to roughly 96 percent of the prison population,” a rep for the California Correctional Institution shared.
According to the online publication, Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) has been reportedly no longer being kept apart from other inmates and has instead been mingling with them in the yard, due to his fame.
However, inmates enrolled in work programs will also receive labor credit. Labor jobs range from different practical skills including plumbing, carpentry, and repairing air conditioning, according to HotNewHipHop.
The opportunity of waiting in the dayroom and recreation area, where they are given a tablet to interact with loved ones, is being extended to non-workers at North Kern State Prison.
According to TMZ, Lanez doesn’t have access to extra security as he mingles with the general population.
Despite the “Say It” artist being in good spirits, Legal Affairs and Trials reporter Meghann Cuniff revealed that Lanez applied for bail a second time.
“Tory Lanez has been in prison for three weeks, but he hasn’t given up on bail,” Cuniff tweeted. “His lawyers are asking an appellate court to let him out of prison as he appeals his convictions and 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.”
“The arguments are nearly identical to the motion Judge Herriford rejected at the Sept. 14 hearing in LA, including the forgoing of any mention of the rehab pushed at sentencing,” she continued.
Back in Sept., it was reported that Peterson applied for bail after he was convicted in the 2020 Megan Thee Stallion shooting. However, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David Herriford denied the motion.
On Sept. 20th, Peterson was transferred from Los Angeles County Jail to North Kern State Prison in Delano, California as he’s to serve out three to six months in the state prison.
As he continues to fight for his freedom, the newly married artist shared his first update behind bars with fans.
“Ayo, Umbrellas, man. What’s good?” Lanez began. “I’m talking to you live from prison right now. I’m just happy to get out that bull**** county jail. They was hating on a young fly *****, you heard? Had me on 24-hour lockdown, half-sized cell by myself. No windows. No mirrors. ***** ain’t even seen himself in a whole year.”
