On the No Jumper Podcast episode, Tony Willrich explains why he dropped his Crip flag. He came out as a gay Crip and received backlash from the community and social media.
“Who the f*ck really cares about gang banging, like who’s really gang- I mean, I don’t know. I mean, I guess there’s just some L.A, I guess L.A just different.”
“But to be honest with you, ain’t nobody really gang banging no more. If you gang banging you lame as hell, we’re just trying to get some money.” he continued.
Tony Willrich says he does not want to disrespect any members; he wants to be himself. He says he no longer wants to be associated with the group and dropped his flag.
“IM NOT A CRIP, IM NOT A HOOVA, AND IM NOT A GANG MEMBER. IM A REPRESENTATIVE FROM A CRIP NEIGHBORHOOD WHO KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN AND BE ACCEPTED BY ALL PEOPLE,” he said. “IVE CAME FAR ENOUGH IN MY CAREER WITHOUT THIS TITLE. SO, HONESTLY, YALL CAN HAVE IT BACK. BUT I AM A STAR THOE” he posted on Instagram.
He told Adam22 that he was only a part of the “g*ng” because all of his family, friends and local peers were a part of the group. Alleging that he did not plan on joining the group but only did because that was all he knew.
Tony was upset that when he was in L.A.People told him he couldn’t wear specific colors and couldn’t go to different areas in L.A. He also says L.A. is only suitable for unemployment benefits and Venice Beach.
