On Monday, journalist and content creator Mickey Truth found and shared a written statement from Henry County police in connection to Soulja Boy’s infamous 2008 home invasion. However, despite what Big Soulja shared, the written statement appeared to contradict what happened.
“Like 5 or 6 dudes broke into my house,” the statement read. “I cut all the lights off and hid with my eyes closed.”
“I shot a gun about five times, then they took the gun and knock [sic] me down and ran out,” the statement continued.
As the hard-to-read written statement went viral on social media, fans quickly shared their opinions on the matter online. Fans called out Soulja Boy for allegedly “lying,” others came to his defense and said that he “did what he was supposed to.” The rapper shared his memorable encounter and explained that the group of 5 to 6 individuals allegedly followed him home after throwing a party at his Atlanta club, Excalibur, during a VLADTV interview in 2017. In the viral video clip, Soulja Boy shared the moments that led to him having to allegedly defend himself during the break-in.
“One n****a run to the front door. I hop out, I start shooting, shot the n***a,” he said. “Shot his a**. All the n***as run out the door. This n***a on the floor. Walk up to this n***a, take his mask off his head. Looked at it, saw who it was. I’m like, ‘Damn.’ Shot his a** again. He [was] screaming and s***. I shut the door.”
The SODMG rapper revealed that his old friend and collaborator, Arab, was present during the incident.
According to HipHopDX, Soulja Boy was exonerated of gun charges tied to the event in 2016, but that hasn’t stopped him from recounting tales.
