Well, it seems that the rap legend fooled us!
Shortly after Snoop Dogg announced that he would be “giving up smoke,” the rapper went viral on social media as the internet assumed that he was giving up smoking cannabis. However, that’s not what the West Coast legend meant by “giving up smoke!”
“I’m done with smoke,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “I’m going smokeless with @solostove. #ad,” he continued to promote Solo Stove.
“I love a good fire outside, but the smoke was too much,” he added. “Solo Stove fixed fire and took out the smoke. They changed the game, and now I’m excited to spread the love and stay warm with my friends and family.”
According to KTLA 5, fans reacted to the promotional advertisement with laughs and commented on many light-hearted stoner jokes after seeing the online ad for the smokeless pit brand.
On Nov.16, Snoop Dogg went viral online for days, as the internet assumed that he was giving up smoking cannabis years after his public advocacy for the controversial plant. In a tweet, he shared that he was “giving up smoke” and requested fans to respect his privacy during the transitional moment.
“After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke,” he tweeted.
“Please respect my privacy at this time,” he continued.
As Snoop chose not to clarify or give a reason for the assumed holistic lifestyle change, fans began to lead their support as they assumed that he was over his love for smoking weed.
Fellow rappers such as Meek Mill and Coi Leray were inspired by Snoop’s alleged lifestyle change and announced they were also quitting smoking.
According to the news outlet, the Long Beach native was also named Solo Stove’s spokesman. As the two join forces, they will release a Snoop Dogg x Solo Stove collaborative line.
This would include a Snoop Dogg-inspired bucket hat, stickers and a fire pit stand, according to PR Newswire.
The upcoming collaborative line has a price tag of $349.99 and is currently available to purchase.
