Former NFL player Sergio Brown has been taken into custody and charged with killing his own mother. Brown went missing after his mother, 73-year-old Myrtle Brown, was found dead near her home in Maywood, Illinois, on Sept. 16.

The Notre Dame alum was reported missing the following day when family members were unable to get in contact with him. Days later, he posted an Instagram story in which he said that he thought his mother was on vacation and that the FBI kidnapped him twice in an incoherent rant. Brown accidentally revealed he was in Mexico City with a geotag before deleting the story.

In another disturbing video, Brown quoted Finding Nemo with the Sydney Opera House tagged in the post.

On Oct 3. TMZ released a video of the 35-year-old partying in Tulum. The ex-safety, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent, was seen dancing, drinking and enjoying the company of clubbers.

Mexican authorities deported Brown on Tuesday. He was arrested in San Diego while crossing the border. He will be extradited to Maywood to face a first-degree murder charge.

Sergio Brown was a starter for the Fighting Irish before signing to the New England Patriots in 2010. Over his six years in the NFL, he also played for the Indianapolis Colts, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills.
