Sexyy Red is currently facing criticism after showing love to former president Donald Trump.
The Hood Hottest Princess had Black Twitter up in arms after she shared her admiration for the former disgraced president during an interview with This Past Weekend podcast. As she shared her love for Trump, she also shared how she wants him back in office.
“I like Trump,” she said. “Yeah, they support him in the hood. At first, I don’t think people was ******* with him. They thought he was racist, saying little shit against women.”
“But once he started getting Black people out of jail and giving people that free money. Awe, baby, we love Trump. We need him back in office,” she continued. “I love Trump. He funny to me. I used to be watching him talking to people. He used to be calling people fat. He just bold. He funny. We need people like him.”
The St. Louis rapper quickly came under fire on social media for her vocal endorsement of Trump, as fans called her out, they pointed out whose presidency was dogged by allegations of racism, misogyny, and election meddling.
He was charged in August for allegedly attempting to rig Georgia’s 2020 election in order to win.
Red isn’t the only rapper that showed public support to Trump. Rappers such as Kanye West, Kodak Black, Fivio Foreign, Da Baby, Waka Flocka Flame, and Lil Wayne also shared their love for the 45th president.
Bando Kev went as far as getting a portrait tattoo of Trump’s viral mugshot.
As for the former president, he was charged with 34 counts of felonies after being indicted in New York in March for allegedly accepting hush money during his 2016 campaign, according to Billboard.
He was charged with mishandling top-secret government information in June and is now accused of 40 offenses. Following that, a grand jury in Atlanta indicted Trump and 18 other individuals on state counts in August for allegedly attempting to rig the former president’s 2020 election results.
Trump pled not guilty to the charges he currently faces in Georgia.
