Nicki Minaj Calls Out Social Media Personalities Who Don’t Know The History Of Hip Hop: ‘It Costs You Nothing To STFU’

As Nicki Minaj builds up anticipation for her long-awaited album, she’s been giving fans teasers of what to expect and is ruffling some feathers in the midst of it all.

In a now-deleted tweet, the self-proclaimed Barbie rapper seemed to be taking shots at internet personalities turned rappers who might not know the history of hip-hop.

“When you are a rapper, you know the history of the greats & when you are an internet personality, you do not,” Nicki Minaj tweeted to millions of followers. “So if you knew the history of the very culture you are trying to penetrate, you’d sitcho goofy ahh df down. It costs you nothing to stfu.”

With such an ambiguous announcement, it leads to much speculation on who the artist is referring to. But perhaps it’s all just more build-up for the rapper’s first album in 5 years.

We’ve seen a lot of Minaj lead-up to the release. She’s gone live on social media to connect with fans and even given a snippet of a song from the project.

It’s been quite a year for the mother of one. She’s been featured in Call of Duty: Warzone, had a hit song that matched the hit movie “Barbie,” and appeared on songs numerous as a guest, including Sexxy Red’s ‘Poundtown’ remix.

NYC emcee plans to release “Pink Friday 2” October 17.
