“Leader McConnell tripped at a dinner event Wednesday evening and has been admitted to the hospital and is being treated for a concussion,” David Popp continues. “He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days of observation and treatment. The Leader is grateful to the medical professionals for their care and to his colleagues for their warm wishes.”
The senator was expected to be back on his feet after the concussion, but now the community is worried about his well-being. In the video, you see McConnell being asked a question about running for Senate again. He looks at the crowd with a blank stare and asks them for the question to be repeated. The reporter then repeated the question; after this, he was at a complete standstill.
An aide stepped in and asked the question again. She goes to help pull him off the stage, but he suggests to her that he is fine and does not need to be removed.
Last month, McConnell froze for 23 seconds, then aid came to his side and pulled him away from the podium. He later came back and told the reporters he was just fine. We are now seeing that there was some neurological damage when he fell back in March. President Joe Biden stepped forward to speak on the situation.
“He’s a good friend, and so I’m going to try to get in touch with him later this afternoon.”
McConnell has been cleared and is said to resume his duties. There are concerns about his age on top of his concussion. People are wondering if he is fit to resume his roles as he is now facing motor skill issues.
