Maryland Cop Suspended After Viral Hookup Video

A Maryland police officer is in hot water after being caught on video involved with a woman while in uniform. Corporal Franceso Marlett of the Prince George’s County Police Department has been suspended with paid leave while an internal affairs investigation occurs.

“PGPD Executive Command is aware of a video circulating on social media with one of our officers. As soon as we became aware earlier today, we opened an investigation to determine the circumstances. Additional information will be released once investigated and confirmed,” PGPD said on Twitter.

In a second tweet, the PGPD gave an update.

“The officer has been identified. His police powers are now suspended as the investigation continues,” PGPD said.

Marlett can be seen hugging the woman, kissing her and leading her to the back seat of his department-issued SUV before climbing into the back with her and closing the door.

According to WUSA-9, the unidentified man who recorded the clip says it was filmed Monday evening at Southlawn Neighborhood Park in Oxon Hill, MD. Children playing in the park can be heard and were briefly in the frame. A report from The Baltimore Banner says the two remained in the vehicle for approximately 40 minutes.

Shortly after the clip had gone viral, another video of Marlett and the woman surfaced. The woman once again climbed into the back seat of the police SUV.

“HE STAY DOING IT AT THE PARK,” the caption to the second clip reads in part.

Marlett’s wife, Paula, responded to the controversy via Facebook. In the emotional status update, Paula identified the woman from both videos as Virginia Pinto and said the extramarital relationship has been going on for years. She also noted that Pinto’s husband ended their marriage because of the affair.

“I Love you all. Except for you, Virginia, you can rot in hell, b*tch,” she concluded the post.

Pinto confirmed she was the woman filmed with Marlett to the New York Post. She also said their relationship “was not a one-night stand” and had been going on for two years.

Paula responded to the outlet saying that Virginia’s “husband left her dirty ass bc can’t stop cheating” and that Cpl. Marlett “used her sex bc she was easy.”

The officer has been suspended twice before by the department. 2016, he was fined and denied a promotion after a child abuse accusation. He was involved in a domestic dispute in nearby Calvert County in May. Internal investigations found both allegations unfounded.

“I expect every officer to conduct themselves in a way that will not dishonor this agency or this county,” PG Police Chief Malik Aziz said in a statement to the publication.
