Ahead of his boxing match against MMA fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player Dillon Danis, Logan Paul is brimming with confidence. How confident, you may ask? Confident enough for the WWE and YouTube personality to bet $1 million on his victory with one of Danis’ close friends and training partners.
Of course, that close friend and training partner is none other than former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor.
The large wager comes after McGregor was interviewed on Saturday while attending the Anthony Joshua and Robert Helenius fight in London. In that brief clip, McGregor shared his plans to help Danis prepare and promised a win for the 2-0 MMA fighter.
“Dillon will win for sure. They’re already backtracking right now. They woke an animal…I’m guiding him. I’m training him for this and I guarantee the win,” the Irish superstar said.
McGregor also issued a challenge.
Not one to shy away from an opportunity to publicly antagonize or promote, Paul responded on his Twitter account with a video.
“I’d bet Dillon but he’s a broke b*tch. I got a million dollars that says I beat your boy,” Paul said in the selfie-style clip with a hip-hop beat playing in the background.
“Let’s see how confident you are. Imagine how much coke you can buy you f*cking drug addict,” he continued.
The social media star, who has transitioned to boxing and professional wrestling in recent years, is winless in the squared circle. In his lone amateur bout, he fought to a draw with fellow Prime Hydration founder KSI. In their mutual pro debut, Paul lost via split decision. He then fought to the distance with undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a non-scored exhibition fight.
Paul recently made headlines when he and his brother Jake butted heads over Prime Hydration being excluded from his Aug. 5 boxing match with Nate Diaz.
Danis hasn’t competed since 2018 when he submitted Max Humphrey in the first round at Bellator 222. This past January, Danis was scheduled to box KSI but withdrew just 10 days before the fight, citing a lack of preparation.
Logan Paul and Dillon Danis are set to face another on October 14 in Manchester, England.
