Kylie Jenner Deletes Pro-Israel Post After Backlash

Kylie Jenner’s show of support to Israel did not go as expected for the 26-year-old socialite.

After sharing an Instagram story featuring an Israeli flag and the words “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel!” Jenner’s previous posts were bombarded with comments saying, “Free Palestine” and Palestinian flag emojis.

Jenner deleted the story just an hour later. Comments on her IG account have since been limited.

That attempt to stop those critical of her public stance only started more backlash as Jenner was then accused by the Kylie Cosmetics founder of using the ongoing conflict for attention as a performative gesture. The pop culture X account Pop Tingz reported that Jenner lost around a million IG followers as a result of the short-lived post.

On Oct. 7, the extremist group Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, leaving over 1,000 dead and at least 100 citizens held captive. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared war on the organization. President Joe Biden has condemned the attacks while the US has pledged to offer additional support.
