Kodak Black spent his recent court date “enjoying himself” on a boat in Capri, Italy, according to his attorney Bradford Cohen. The troubled South Florida MC did not exacerbate his legal trouble by missing his Broward County status hearing for a felony drug case. Instead, he took advantage of having a paid professional speak on his behalf, as his attendance wasn’t required.
The hearing comes as a result of a June arrest after the rapper, whose real name is Bill Kahan Kapri, failed to submit a drug test as part of the pretrial release conditions connected to a July 2022 arrest. Kapri was charged with trafficking oxycodone, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and driving with an expired driver’s license and tags.
The Pistolz and Pearlz rapper was released the following day after posting a $75,000 bond. After failing to appear for a drug test on June 9, the Broward Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest.
This marked the second violation of his pretrial release conditions. In February, Kodak refused to submit a random drug and alcohol test on time, and then tested positive for Fentanyl. He was ordered to spend 30 days at an inpatient drug rehab facility.
On Aug. 3, a TikTok video was posted showing the 25-year-old being wheeled into Broward Health Hospital’s emergency room.
