Trevian C. Kutti, the former publicist for Kanye West, has been charged with breaking Georgia’s Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, alongside Donald Trump and 17 other people.
According to the New York Times, Kutti faces two of the 41 charges of which Trump and his alleged co-conspirators are variously accused. These charges are in addition to the RICO allegation that pertains to all 19 defendants in the ongoing case.
Her name appears next to counts 30 and 31 within the indictment. These counts involve conspiracies to seek false statements and writings and to influence witnesses.
“Defendant Donald John Trump lost the United States presidential election held on November 3, 2020. One of the states he lost was Georgia,” read the 98-page indictment. “Trump and the other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused to accept that Trump lost, and they knowingly and willfully joined a conspiracy to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump. That conspiracy contained a common plan and purpose to commit two or more acts of racketeering activity in Fulton County, Georgia, elsewhere in the State of Georgia, and in other states.”
Reuters reported that on January 4 of that year, she visited the residence of Georgia poll worker Ruby Freeman and accused her, along with her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, of counting fictitious mail-in ballots.
The indictment outlines that Kutti met with Freeman for an hour at a Cobb County Police Department station. This meeting occurred after Kutti initially told Freeman’s neighbor she was a crisis manager trying to “help” Freeman. During this encounter, Kutti allegedly told Freeman she needed protection and promised to assist her.
“I believe that the charges that were filed on me are for a lack of better words baloney,” stated the “media manipulator” in a text message to the Wall Street Journal.
“I completely stand by what I said to the election worker that I was simply a crisis manager,” she added.
Although the exact timing of Kutti’s connection with West is unknown, their names started to appear together in 2018 after Kutti parted ways with R. Kelly, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
According to Kutti’s online biography, which was updated in 2021, she worked as West’s director of operations and was a “publicist to Kanye West” in 2018.
