Kai Cenat is back in the news and is trending for good reasons!
Ray, a 17-year-old fan, was a guest on the 21-year-old’s livestream. Benny Blanco, a music producer, was on the phone at one point. Blanco extended an invitation to the adolescent to accompany him and Cenat to the strip club.
“Ray, can we take you to the strip club?” Blanco asked.
Ray quickly reminded Blanco and Cenat that he was underage.
“Oh, I’m seventeen,” Ray said.
“I’ll be in LA tomorrow, so we’re gonna take Ray to the strip club,” Cenat laughingly responded. “But we gotta be lowkey.”
Fans didn’t waste any time as they took to social media to call Cenat out.
“First speed grooms his chat by flashing his meat on purpose – now kai talking about breaking laws and grooming minors? Anybody wanna admit something going on in the community,” one person asked.
“This is crazy,” another X user said.
“Ain’t no way,” another fan said.
Ray starred in the streamer’s latest Rush Hour-inspired action comedy short, Global Pursuit, which was only available on YouTube. The two first connected when Ray visited Cenat in Japan. As a huge fan, Ray is grateful for everything Cenat has done for him.
This isn’t the first time the popular streamer caught major backlash from social media. On Aug. 4, Cenat hosted a live giveaway event that quickly turned bad as the fans became rowdy and created havoc in the streets when they couldn’t get the free PlayStation 5s and other prizes.
At a news conference on Friday night, Jeffrey Maddrey, the NYPD chief, announced that police had detained 65 people, 30 of whom were minors. In addition to police officers, he saw young people hurt in the crowd. The chief said that among other charges, Cenat has been charged with two counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly.
Cenat addressed this situation during a stream that he hosted later on, placing the blame on the wrongdoers who went too far.
“I am beyond disappointed with anyone who became destructive that day,” he said. “That sh*t is not cool, I want people to know that. I don’t condone anything that went on that day. None of that was my intention. I had good intentions for this whole thing.”
