During the trial between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez, his fans and family are coming forward to show their support. Some of the people who are supporting Tory in this difficult time are his 6-year-old son, Iggy Azalea, and super fans.
It is not new news that Iggy Azalea and Tory had a little fling last year. It seems to be that she is now standing beside him no matter the outcome. There was a total of 70 letters sent to Judge Herriford in support of helping Tory Lanez in his criminal court case.
A super fan sent in a letter claiming that she “hates” Megan Thee Stallion due to the prosecution date being pushed back. The fan told reporters that she traveled far and took time off work to support her Idol but became angry that the court kept postponing the dates.
Rapper Daystar Peterson, known as Tory Lanez, has been incarcerated since Dec. 23, 2022. His original sentencing date was for January or February of 2023.
Some people are angry with his supporters, which includes the rapper’s previous fling Iggy Azalea.
“Iggy Azalea is the walking embodiment of how white women will fetishize Black womanhood—from co-opting our speech and vernacular to paying thousands to replicate our physical aesthetics to birthing Black children—but will refuse to stand in solidarity with Black women,” a viral tweet stated.
Tory Lanez was found guilty of three felony charges: assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
“Since I was viciously shot by the defendant, I have not experienced a single day of peace. Slowly but surely I’m healing and coming back, but I will never be the same,” according to a witness statement made by Megan the day before his sentencing.
Tory Lanez has been charged and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Judge Herriford ruled in Megan’s favor on Aug. 8, 2023, due to the lack of remorse Tory showed.
