Gunna Shows Support For Young Thug At First Concert Since Released From Jail

Gunna made his return to the big stage since his release from jail in 2022. The rapper performed his first headlining show in New York’s Barclay Center since jail and not only was the show sold-out but it also served as a way to highlight his homie Young Thug.

During one part of the YSL hitmaker’s show, a large “Free Jeffery ” was displayed on the jumbo screen as part of his set decor. This isn’t the only time Gunna has shown support for Thug. In August, the 30-year-old rapper shared a picture with Thugga on his Instagram Story recognizing Young Thug’s birthday.

Many fans continue to push the narrative of there being some type of rift between the pair of Georgia natives. Things took a turn when Gunna pleaded guilty to his involvement in the YSL RICO case, which led to “snitching allegations” towards him. While Gunna is letting the world know he’s still rocking with Young Thug, people online felt otherwise and questioned the rappers’ loyalty.

The two rappers were arrested in 2022 as part of a 56-count indictment RICO case. Gunna was charged with conspiracy to violate the RICO Act but was released after entering a plea deal. The case has moved forward after being put on pause to handle another YSL affiliate’s murder charge from a different case.

Although some people have a lot to say about Gunna’s plea deal and labeling him a “snitch,” it seems as if his fanbase still came out to support at his sold-out concert. It was a night of firsts across the board for the ATL rapper and marks the first time fans have been able to see Gunna perform songs off his A Gift & A Curse album, like hit single “Fukumean.”

Gunna is set to perform a second show in Los Angeles later this month.
