Gunna was fortunate enough to run into two fans blasting his “A Gift & a Curse” album in traffic.
Gunna, born Sergio Kitchens, posted an Instagram story of the encounter on Wednesday night. As standout track “rodeo dr” plays in their car, the two young men enthusiastically recite the lyrics after the driver shouts, “Gunna I love you.”
The passenger is recording the moment with his phone as well. The Georgia artist can be heard laughing.
On Sept. 10, Gunna sold out Brooklyn’s Barclay Center in his first live performance since being freed from jail in December. The show began with a large sign that read “Free Jeffery” in support of label head Jeffrey Williams Jr, better known as Young Thug.
Gunna was released after accepting a plea deal in the ongoing YSL RICO case. As part of the agreement, Kitchens acknowledged that Young Slime Life is a criminal gang leading to accusations that he snitched on his crew to secure his freedom. Young Thug and his remaining co-defendants are set to resume trial in October.
“A Gift & a Curse” was released five months after he walked out of Fulton County Jail and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200.
