Fans Think J. Cole Is Dissing NBA YoungBoy On New Lil Yachty Song ‘The Secret Recipe’

Friday’s surprise release of a collaboration between J Cole and Lil Yachty has caused speculation from observant fans.

J Cole is rumored to be taking shots at NBA Youngboy in his verse of the year contender.

“****** makin’ threats and I laugh, that’s ’cause you ain’t a threat /Don’t ask how I feel ’bout no rappers, ****, they okay I guess/ Incomin’ call, press the button, the one that say accept /He FaceTime to ask for a feature and saw the face of death,” Cole raps.

The apparent jabs to the Baton Rouge MC did not come out of nowhere. In May, NBA Youngboy dropped “**** The Industry Pt 2,” a song that highlighted his outsider status and name-checked Cole for a failed attempt at working with the Fayetteville, NC native.

“J a hoe/ That ***** played it cold/ Like he was gon’ do a feature/ So I texted his line a muscle sign, I swear it’s gon’ be nice to meet ya,” Youngboy spit in the opening verse.

Yatchy, another target in the song, responded on social media shortly afterward. So far, internet detectives haven’t connected any of his bars on “The Secret Recipe” directly to Youngboy.

Ibrahim Hamad, Cole’s manager, has attempted to silence the internet chatter and dispel any thoughts of the Dreamville founder engaging in a lyrical battle with Youngboy. Hamad responded in part to a tweet from Say Cheese about the new verse with, “I’m pretty sure this is [cap emoji.]”

This is just the latest in a string of stand-out features from Cole. The “Off-Season” MC has lent his voice and pen to notable songs with Lil Durk, BIA and Benny the Butcher.
