Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, has stated that, when it comes to pursuing suspected criminals, she does not give a damn about status or identification!
In response to allegations that he attempted to tamper with Georgia’s 2020 election results, Willis has filed a fourth set of criminal charges against former President, Donald Trump.
“If you come into my community and you commit a crime, you deserve to be held responsible,” she declared.
According to the New York Times, 19 people were named, and a lengthy 98-page indictment containing a total of 41 criminal offenses was released late on Monday.
Alongside Rudy Giuliani, Trevian Kutti, Kanye West’s former publicist, John Eastman, and Mark Meadows, Trump’s former Chief of Staff in the White House, were also indicted and charged.
“Rather than abide by Georgia’s legal process for election challenges, the defendants engaged in a criminal, racketeering enterprise to overturn Georgia’s presidential election result,” stated Willis during a press conference.
Trump and the other defendants have until noon EDT on Friday, Aug. 25, to surrender voluntarily or face arrest, according to Willis. She declared that all 19 accused will be tried concurrently.
Willis has been catapulted into the national spotlight after the former President put her on blast during a rally in Windham, New Hampshire.
Trump has frequently referred to the prosecutor as “phony” and accused her of having an affair with YSL Mondo, a “gang member” whom she is also prosecuting. Trump has been extremely critical of the prosecutor in recent days.
“They say there’s a young woman — a young racist in Atlanta — they say she was after a certain gang and she ended up having an affair with the head of the gang or a gang member,” Trump said. “And this is a person who wants to indict me […] wants to indict me for a perfect phone call,” he exclaimed.
Willis allegedly employed a well-known legal strategy while charging Trump and the other co-defendants in the lengthy 41-count indictment, according to ABC News.
“It lets you get the big fish by working from the bottom up, by kind of indicting the whole pond,” remarked Tom Church, an Atlanta defense attorney uninvolved in the DA’s case, in an interview with the publication.
