Coi Leray dropped new music and reignited old issues while doing it. The 26-year-old rapper released her 5-track EP Blue Moon and didn’t hold anything in with getting her lick back with Atlanta rapper Latto and her ex-boyfriend rapper Trippie Redd.
The 3rd song on the project called “Isabel Marant”, has the Boston-born emcee getting things off her chest.
“Yeah I’m on they a** (Yeah) / Hop up out that couch and roll up Latto out the bag,” Leray raps on the track. Earlier this year Latto mentioned Coi directly in her song, “Put It On Da Floor” and she let it be known that she was not a fan of the shady shout-out.
“Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray / B**ches like to run they mouth, but I’m the type to run a fade.” Latto rapped in her song that originally stirred things up between the two. Since then Latto has replaced the verse with Cardi B on the remix and things seemed to be not so murky for the pair after Coi admitted she overreacted. Then Latto complimented her by saying she loves her body during a Coachella performance.
“It was the diss record with my name on it that confused me. Much love to Latto! Appreciate the compliment 💯⭐💗” Coi tweeted.
Ex-boyfriend of Coi Leray, Ohio-born rapper Trippie Redd caught some jabs on the track too. “Try to count me out and now I’m big as Trippie Redd.” she raps. The two dated back in 2019 and after the relationship ended Redd dropped “Leray”, a song where he reflected on their time together but threw in some shady bars in between..
“Let this be the last f**kin project with my name on it … that’s all ima say … time will heal…” she clapped back on social media in 2020.
The “No More Parties” rapper says through this EP she got deep and vulnerable.
