Fans aren’t feeling the City Girls’ decision to name their third album Rich *** ******.
As the Miami-Dade County duo gears up to release their third album, they face heavy criticism after fans learned the title of their album.
“It’s been three-years since we dropped #CityOnLock, and in that time we’ve been thru so much. Now the question is…What’s Next,” an Instagram post read that announced the news.
The news followed after Yung Miami, and J.T. shared studio footage, and discussed how their lives have been since the release of their sophomore album, City on Lock.
“Three years later, you know, so much stuff happened like COVID,” Yung Miami said. “I feel like it’s hard for us… I wouldn’t say hard, but it’s like, we’re the City Girls, we’re known for rapping [what] we rap about. Now, we stay true to our sound.”
After the Miami rappers revealed the title of their upcoming project, fans took to social media to blast them of the title of the upcoming album.
Many fans deemed that women of “this generation” are “cooked,” while other fans came to the group’s defense and said that the title of their album is not “that deep.”
As for their individual careers, Yung Miami recently took home the Best Hip-Hop Platform award at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards for her podcast, Caresha Please.
The recent victory was met with heavy criticism, from NORE and Charlamagne Tha God, as her podcast only has four episodes under its belt.
As for J.T., she recently revealed that she is currently working on a solo EP on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Rich *** ****** is scheduled to be released on Friday, Oct. 20th.
